TOWSON, Md. (AP) _ Shaun Holtz scored 17 points and freshman Tamir Goodman added 16 as Towson University beat Liberty University 75-57 Saturday.

The win was the Tigers' sixth in their last seven games since starting the season with an 0-3 record.

Holtz made six of 11 shots from the field and added 10 rebounds. Goodman had six assists and made 12 of 14 free throws.

Led by Goodman's four free throws, the Tigers outscored the Flames by an 8-3 margin over the final three minutes of the first half to take a 34-30 lead at intermission.

In the second half, the Tigers held Liberty to 21 percent shooting from the floor as they pulled away for the win. The Tigers' 18-point margin of victory was their largest of the season.

Senior Brian Barber became Towson's 21st 1,000-point scorer with his 10 points.

The Flames were led by Maurice Watkins who had 17 points and seven rebounds. Chris Caldwell added 13 points.
