TOWSON, Md. (AP) _ Sam Sutton scored a career high 30 points and Tamir Goodman added 15 points and 10 assists as Towson University won its seventh straight home game, beating Northeastern University 86-71 Saturday.

Sutton went 13-for-15 from the floor, as Towson (9-8, 5-3 America East) tied a 1977 team record for field-goal percentage by hitting 70.5 percent. Brian Allen contributed 11 points and 10 assists for the Tigers.

Towson held a 39-31 advantage at halftime, but Northeastern (2-12, 1-5 America East) fought back to a 60-60 tie with nine minutes remaining. The Tigers responded with an 8-0 run and held on to the lead for the rest of the game.

Marcus Blossom led Northeastern with 18 points. Jean Bain had 17 points, and Jean Francois added 13.
