Tamir Goodman Charities is a non-profit organization dedicated to using basketball as a tool to help Israeli victims of war, terrorism, and poverty. TAMIR GOODMAN CHARITIES is launching a program to help Israeli children who are both victims of this past summer’s war and victims of the devastation of the Kassam rockets being continuously launched at Sderot . Although the katusha rockets are no longer raining down on northern Israel, their impact is still directly being felt by thousands of Israeli children. Forced to spend their summer vacations in bomb shelters, the katusha rockets shattered the children’s sense of normalcy and security. Now their parents, who are trying to rebuild both their lives and their property, are suffering from economic hardships which are a direct ramification from the war’s devastation. Due to lack of funds, the parents are unable to provide the fun and recreational activities that their children need during this difficult recovery period. Similarly, the children in Sderot and neighboring communities in southern Israel are suffering from the devastation of relentless kassam rockets which are continuously being launched at their homes, schools, streets, and places of work. The stress of living in such an uncertain and terrifying atmosphere is unbearable, traumatizing, and disruptive to all residents, but especially the children. To counter this problem, Tamir Goodman Charities is launching an initiative whose aim is to restore some of the enjoyment of childhood that has been stolen from the children of Israel’s northern and southern communities. The program hopes to see American Jewry “adopting” Israeli children, who will be treated to a fun day including pizza, t-shirts, basketball clinics led by Tamir Goodman, and tickets and transportation to watch Tamir and his Maccabi Shoham take on Israel’s most competitive basketball teams. With a tax deductible donation you can bring a smile back to the face of an Israeli child. Our goal is to bring 100 kids from various communities which have been affected by the war and terrorism to each of Maccabi Shoham’s thirteen home games. To sponsor 100 kids for a day’s activities costs $5,000. Any donation below or above this amount will help us to bring “simcha” to Israel’s children and is greatly appreciated. Tamir Goodman Charities extends our sincere thanks for your concern and generosity.
